A year has passed since Lionsfilm (headquarters: Sumida, Tokyo; CEO Takeshi Mori) opened Lionsfacility, a combination drone showroom, test flight center, and café/bar, and has now opened a Drone School utilizing knowhow gleaned through our work in drone photography, management, and seminars. We have also opened registration for our second round of outdoor drone photography. Furthermore, in order to provide an even easier to use drone flight practice space to our beloved customers, we have made changes to Lionsfacility operating hours and pricing.

 

 

 

■About Lionsfacility Drone School (LFDS)

LFDS is a seminar series planned and managed by Lionsfilm Limited Co., Ltd. for civilian multicopter training, offering qualifications training that will allow even students with zero multicopter flight experience to register for provincial flight permission and receive approval.

While we have already been approved as a training organization by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT), LFDS plans to apply for status as a proper lecturing entity with MLIT when it comes to drones.

Seminars held at the school don’t simply focus on certifying individuals in terms of knowledge and skill when it comes to flying drones, but also how to operate a drone-centric business in a safe manner. We have created a certification program that thoroughly delves into how to prepare to mitigate unforeseen accidents and problems as well as how to deal with said problems in the event they should occur in a cool and composed manner to mitigate damage and injury, producing prudent and vigilant pilots.

*Our school bases its curriculum on the experience and know how gained from a year of running our own drone flight center and having shot at world heritage centers.

Many of our customers at Lionsfacility have informed us of the relative lack of locations for them to fly drones in and around the Tokyo area and that they would like for us to hold an outdoor drone photography event. Available to: those looking to complete Basic Certification

(Applicants are free to complete their basic skill check either in advance at Lionsfacility or on the day of the event.)

*The basic skill check is a confirmation that the pilot has the skills deemed necessary to fly outdoors.

*We will inform applicants whether the event will need to be postponed due to weather conditions 3 days before the event. In the event of a cancellation, we will inform applicants on the day of the event.

*Should the rescheduled event also need to be postponed due to weather, we will carry registrations over to the next event. We will also check with applicants whether they are able to participate at the next event at the time of registration.

■About Changes to Hours and Pricing

Many of our customers at Lionsfacility have said that they would like to be able to come by after work to fly drones and that they would like more practice flying at night. As a result, we have expanded our business hours and changed pricing plans to better suit our customers’ needs.

Hours:

Before: 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm (last order 6:30 pm)

After: 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm (last order 9:30 pm)

*Closed every week on Mondays and Tuesdays (May also be closed other days)

*All prices include tax

Lionsfacility Member Registration Fees:

Before: ￥4,320

After: Free of charge

*Registrations are performed on an individual basis.

*In the event of a lost membership card, a card reissue will incur a ￥540 surcharge.

Hall Usage Fees:

Before: 30 minutes ￥2,160

After: 30 minutes ￥650 *Price on Sat., Sun., and national holidays is ￥750

*Nighttime flying incurs a \50 surcharge each half hour

*90 minutes of weekday flight costs \1,950 (\650 x 3).

*Customers are free to bring their own drones to fly.

Lionsfacitily features original seminar courses focusing on drone basics, private drone operation instructional sessions, skill checks, and corporate training seminars, providing you with whatever knowledge about drones you require.
